Summary

The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) officially became a university on 1 July 1992 (State Government of Victoria, 2018, p. 6). At the same time, RMIT merged with the Phillip Institute of Technology (State Government of Victoria, 2008, p. 1). RMIT University is the current trading name of the university.
