About the RMIT University History website

The RMIT University History website contains the history of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University. It includes information about organisational changes since its inception as the Working Men’s College, and provides details about predecessor and merged organisations, significant people, important events, university buildings, and key themes. This website also includes relevant published resources, as well as archival records held by RMIT University Archives, RMIT Library, and other external organisations.

The information on this website is not an exhaustive record of the history of RMIT, nor is it a complete list of records held by the RMIT University Archives.
