Summary

The Preston Diploma School was opened in 1964 (Preston Institute of Technology, 1979, p. 4). According to Carroll (1995, p. 3), 'in 1966, the College Council applied to affiliate the Preston Diploma School with the recently-formed Victoria Institute of Colleges. This was approved and the Preston Institute of Technology was formally set up on 24 September 1968.'
