Summary

Building 13 was opened on 27 April 1927 and originally housed the Emily McPherson College of Domestic Economy. The building was designed by Government architect E. Evan Smith in a neoclassical style. In 1979 the Emily McPherson College of Domestic Economy amalgamated with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Edquist and Grierson, 2008, p. 88). The Ethel Margaret McPherson wing was opened on 16 August 1950 (RMIT University, undated).
