1970 - Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology divided into the Advanced College and the Technical College by 1970
- Summary
With the establishment of the Victorian Institute of Colleges (VIC) in 1965, it was necessary to create a distinction between tertiary and non-tertiary courses within the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Murray-Smith and Dare, 1987, pp. 409-410). By 1970 this distinction had been more or less achieved, with the Institute divided into the Technical College and the Advanced College (Murray-Smith and Dare, 1987, p. 410).
