Summary

Edith Dorothy Dunn, born in Surrey Hills, Melbourne in 1887, was an early Australian female commercial photographer. Educated at Miss James' Surrey Hills School and Ormiston Girl's School, she trained as a nurse before studying photography at the Working Men's College from 1909-1910. Dunn worked in various photographic studios across Australia from 1908 to 1919. In 1914 she joined the British Association for the Advancement of Science. She married John Albert Freeman in 1919.
