Summary

Building 12 was named after Lt. Col. James George Gillespie. Gillespie was Vice President of the Melbourne Technical College from 1942 to 1944, and Treasurer from 1951 to 1967 (RMIT University, undated; Edquist and Grierson, 2008, p. 66). The Building was also referred to as the Gillespie Wing.
