- Summary
Building 2 was designed by the Public Works Department and is comparable to contemporary British industrial architecture. The building was completed in 1916 (Argus, 6 July 1916, p. 8; Age, 6 July 1916, p. 6). It housed the School of Applied Art, which was opened on 25 January 1917 by the Governor of Victoria Sir Arthur Stanley (Edquist and Grierson, 2008, p. 22).
