- Summary
The Melbourne (Bowen-Street) Land Bill was read at the Parliament of Victoria Legislative Assembly on 9 and 15 August 1950. The motion was agreed to and passed through the remaining stages. The Bill legislated for the closure of Bowen Street and part of an adjoining lane in order to provide more space for the Melbourne Technical College (Victoria, Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly, 9 August 1950, pp. 262 and 268-269, and 15 August 1950, pp. 303-313; Murray-Smith and Dare, 1987, p. 294).
