Peter Thomas James McCormack was a key figure in the establishment of preparatory trades classes at the Working Men's College, and was in charge of the carpentry classes from 1893. Later, McCormack became principal of the junior school (Murray-Smith and Dare, 1987, pp. 33 and 474).
