1990 - RMIT officially became part of Victoria University of Technology

On 1 July 1990 the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) officially became part of Victoria University of Technology, however, RMIT withdraw before the finalisation date in 1991 (Public Record Office Victoria, undated). Details of this event were published in the RMIT Victoria University of Technology Handbook (1991, pp. viii and x).
